UndisclosedDescriptionABSTRACT OF THE POSITION:
Home visiting Parent Educators will work collaboratively with low-income families to achieve successful outcomes for preschool children, ages 3 to 5 of all backgrounds and abilities.
Parent Educators will use the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program models (or other curricula as appropriate) to support parents as their child's first and most important teacher.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES (including but not limited to):
Recruits and selects families for home-based early childhood services.
Determines eligibility of children based on program guidelines.
Maintains enrollment level and a waiting list of eligible children.
Plans and facilitates parent orientations to the program.
Develops and implements curriculum and individual plans for children.
Accommodates Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) for children with disabilities.
Establishes positive relationships with families and promotes parent involvement.
Coordinates with community agencies and promotes access to services for families.
Maintains records and produces reports on child and family progress.
Monitors child progress and adjusts curriculum planning as needed.
Ensures compliance with all program regulations, policies, and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to lift 40 pounds including files, laptop computers, lesson plans, home visiting supplies, or other necessary items with or without material handling equipment.
Must be able to work for long periods of time while maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
Must be able to sit at a table or desk for long periods of time with occasional standing, walking, squatting, or reaching.
Must be able to travel by car, bus, airplane, or train for job requirements, training, or program activities as needed.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
QualificationsEducation & Work ExperienceRequired to hold a minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent).
Skills & AbilitiesMust be at least 21 years old, have held a driver's license for at least 3 years, and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and educational materials.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Organized with strong time management and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and other software.
Flexible schedule, ability to work with diverse individuals, and ability to work independently or in a team environment while following program policies and procedures.
Other requirements include acquiring CPR/First Aid training, Live Scan Fingerprinting, negative TB results, and passing drug/alcohol testing.
PreferredPrefer Associate Degree (or higher) in child development, human services, or a related field.
Six (6) months of experience in early childhood education or family services is preferred.
Bilingual (English-Spanish) speaking and writing skills are helpful.
Six (6) months of general clerical experience (filing, faxing, copying, etc.
) is encouraged.
Wage$29,250.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
