Under the direct guidance of the Early Head Start Center Director, the EHS Substitute Teacher II, works as a partner with other EHS Infant/Toddler Teachers.
This position requires developing activities for infants and toddlers to provide them with varied experiences and an appropriate learning environment.
The Substitute Teacher II works with typically developing children, children with disabilities and with families to promote parental involvement in the program.
This position partners with other EHS Infant-Toddler Teachers in fulfilling the goals, policies and activities designed to achieve educational objectives and to meet performance standards.
The Substitute Teacher II may be assigned additional duties and to various classrooms/centers based upon program need and area of developing expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES (including but not limited to):
Assists with the creation and implementation of a developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive program that supports the child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment that meets the changing needs of infants and toddlers.
Supports the classroom/center in any aspect of the program as the need arises and/or as requested by the Center Director, including covering for staff during break times.
Adheres to federal, state, and local health and safety policies and procedures, Early Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing regulations, and SCF's Policies and Procedures, while maintaining First Aid and CPR certification and other required state trainings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical demands:
Lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, crouching, sitting on the floor, and using hands and fingers to manipulate equipment.
Visual and auditory abilities:
Able to see and hear to read materials, conduct conversations, and share developmental reports with families.
Working environment:
Includes childcare center, office, and client homes, with some exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases and moderate to loud noise levels.
Compliance:
Upholds and adheres to SCF's Safety Program responsibilities, including attending training, reporting hazards, and cleaning up spills or other safety concerns.
QualificationsEducation & Work ExperienceMust be at least 18 years old.
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) or obtain within (9) months of hire date.
Must obtain a Child Development Associate Credential with a focus on Infants/Toddlers and trained in early childhood development within six (6) months of hire date or date designated by EHS Program Management (SCF will pay a portion of the CDA Fees).
Experience with infants/toddlers in a group setting is preferred.
Wage $15.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
